Friends and colleagues of Nigeria's most accomplished music producer, Don Jazzy, threw him a surprise birthday party last night at Escape. The guest list included Iyanya, Dr. Sid, Reekado Banks and more. All preparations and the guest list were kept top-secret leaving Don Jazzy surprised but the biggest highlight of the night was the presentation of Don Jazzy with a bottle of the John Walker & Sons Private Collection 2015 Edition. BREAKING: Buhari removes NEMA DG, names retired Air Vice Marshal as replacement

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Air Vice Marshal Muhammadu Alhaji Muhammed (retd) as the new Director-General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to replace Mustapha Maihaja. Appointment of the new NEMA  DG was announced on Saturday by a statement which emanated from the office of the Secretary to Government of the Federation (SGF). Signed by Willie Bassey, Director, Information, the statement said the appointment took effect from Thursday, April 30, for an initial period of four years in accordance with Section 3 of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Act. The statement added: “The erstwhile Director General, Mustapha Y. Maihaja, has been directed to hand over all official matters to AVM Muhammadu Alhaji Muhammed immediately. “The President thanked the outgoing Director-General for his services and charged the new appointee to serve with diligence and commitment.”

Edo guber: Obaseki allegedly joins PDP, picks membership card in Oredo

After his disqualification from the governorship primaries of the All Progressives Congress, APC, sources have claimed that the Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, has joined the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. DAILY POST gathered that few minutes after his disqualification, Gov Obaseki collected his PDP membership card at Ward 4, Oredo Local Government Area of the state. Recall that Obaseki had said he would not challenge his disqualification from the exercise. It was also gathered that the governor will be moving into the PDP with all the 18 local government chairmen in Edo State together with 12 lawmakers in the State Assembly. Governors under the PDP umbrella are billed to visit him this weekend. Further findings by DAILY POST revealed that some members of the PDP were already preparing to receive the governor.
